Quantum Surveys are proud to actively support our industry and our future surveyors. Recently we had Adam Royce, a Curtin University student come and experience some practical surveying with our Licensed Surveyor, Roger. This is Adam’s story:Supporting Our Future Surveyors
“I am currently in my third year of a Bachelor of Surveying degree at Curtin University in Perth. While I am really enjoying the course, I was keen to get some hands-on practical experiences and Quantum Surveys gave me that opportunity. The Quantum team is a small but close knit group. I was placed with Roger Hunt for the week and I got to experience the day-to-day working life of a Licensed Surveyor. I assisted Roger on a variety of surveys and got to travel to a host of different locations.
Over the course of a week, we performed a set out survey near Mingenew and pegged a subdivision in Chapman Valley. We re-established the legal boundaries of a property in Geraldton and I even got to see a quad-copter drone in action. While some of the tasks were familiar from my studies, the technology available at Quantum was far greater than I expected. Roger gave me support and confidence with my future job prospects as well as my career aspirations when I finish university. I am grateful for their time and would love to continue to learn from the Quantum team in the future. Thank you again for the opportunity.”
